Microsoft pulls Office 2011 Service Pack 2

Microsoft has this past weekend pulled a short lived update to their Office 2011 suite for Mac OS X from Office’s “AutoUpdate” tool after numerous users flooded the company with complains of database corruption in Outlook.

While the issue appears to be widespread and serious enough to warrant exercising caution before installing the update, risk takers and users who don’t really care much about Outlook (ahem) can go ahead and install the update at the Microsoft Downloads site. Go ahead – live life on the edge.

Check out the full comment by Microsoft, as posted on the Office for Mac team on their blog, after the break.
