Valve announces Steam for Ubuntu
Valve has today announced the long rumored Steam for Ubuntu 12.04, finally bringing literally years of expectations and rumors to an end. Valve has set up a blog to make the announcements, as well as to detail its ongoing progress.
Valve has announced that it has been working on porting the popular Left 4 Dead game to the system, as well as assuring that it runs at an acceptable frame rate. Valve will then focus on porting its other portfolio of games, including Half Life, Team Fortress, and the insanely popular Portal series to the platform.
Valve has not yet committed to a release date, though now that an announcement has been made I could imagine it would be any day now.
