Microsoft and Nokia announce joint September 5th press event
Can anyone say Windows Phone 8 based Lumia devices? Microsoft and Nokia have just announced a joint press event that’ll be taking place on September 5th. Many had been wondering when Nokia would begin launching its next generation Lumia devices, and it looks like now we know.
This news comes just a couple of weeks after Microsoft announced that the original Lumia phones (the Lumia 610, Lumia 710, Lumia 800, and Lumia 900) wouldn’t be receiving an upgrade to Windows Phone 8, nor would any other Windows Phone 7 device. So it’s not a stretch to assume that this will be all about the phones that will be getting the operating system.
(A bit irrelevant perhaps, but interesting nonetheless – notice how the invitation sent out uses the old Windows Phone logo rather than the new Windows Phone logo)
