Amazon sends out invites to September 6th press conference
Let’s face it- the shiny gleam of newness that once radiated throughout the very essence of your Kindle Fire has diminished. The flame has been put out, so to speak. Apparently Amazon’s got that same down feeling as well, because the company just announced a September 6th press conference, and if I were a betting man I’d bet that there’s one thing on that menu, it’s the Kindle.
Amazon has been on a yearly update cycle for their Kindle products since their inception, and it is about that time – the Kindle Fire was announced around 11-months ago, after all. The company offered no official hints as to what the topic of the conference will be, but an updated Kindle Fire seems like the best bet. I’d also expect to see updates to their regular Kindle product lines – the death of the basic Kindle, a cheaper price for the Kindle Touch, and a new model Kindle Touch with a backlit display, perhaps?
I mean, those are only guesses. Who knows, right?
