Just when we thought Amazon had pulled out all the tricks for today’s event, they go and pull a crazy Eddie on us and reveal one more thing – the Kindle Fire HD 7″. What we’ve got this time is a 7″ version of the 8.9″ Kindle Fire HD, complete with a Retina quality display. You’ve got the same OMAP 4470 processor, dual 5GHz antennas, and Dolby Digital stereo speakers, all wrapped in a smaller package.
The Kindle Fire HD 7″ will go on sale September 14th for just $199, the same price as the original Kindle. Meanwhile, the 8.9″ Kindle Fire HD will be priced at $299.
