Microsoft signs licensing deal with RIM
Details are scarce at the moment, but the official Reuters Twitter account just let loose a doozy – Microsoft has reportedly signed some sort of a licensing deal with BlackBerry manufacturer RIM. The exact text of the tweet is:
Microsoft has signed a licensing agreement with BlackBerry manufacturer Research in Motion. More soon on http://Reuters.com .
Could officially mark the beginning of an era of Windows Phone based RIM devices? Or is this deal about something else entirely? We’ll keep you updated as soon as we know more.
Update 12:13 PM EST: Well, we’ve just received word that the licensing does not include Windows Phone, but rather brings the ExFAT file system to Blackberry devices.
