Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 to cost $799
Lenovo may have gotten the jump on Microsoft with a full Intel based Windows 8 tablet being released this October, but boy does it come with a price – while most tablet devices run for around $199-$399 base price, Lenovo’s ThinkPad Tablet 2 will start at a whopping $799, two times as much as the base model iPad and over five times as much as the base model Kindle fire.
The Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 comes with a 1337×768 10.1″ display, supports AT&T 3G and LTE, and comes with a bundled keyboard. Lenovo also plans to release a Windows RT powered ARM device later on in the year, but it won’t be ready at launch.
Despite the high price, the ThinkPad Tablet 2 might be an attractive option for those looking for a slate device who would also like to take advantage of the nigh endless array of Windows programs and utilities.
