Microsoft Office for iOS and Android all but confirmed for Spring 2013
According to tech site IHNED, a senior Microsoft employee – Petr Bobek, to be exact – has let the cat out of the bag and claimed that Microsoft will indeed be releasing Microsoft Office for not only iOS, but also Android coming next Spring.
Details are scarce, which is to be expected, but this is big news if true. iOS users have long had to rely on Apple’s competent iWork suite to do any office work on their iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad (which is fine, but it’s no Office), while Android users had few to no viable options what-so-ever.
The report comes as Petr Bobek was quoted through what is now a press release as saying that Office “Office will also be available on other operating systems: Windows Phone, Windows RT, Mac OS, Android, iOS and Symbian”.
