Prices for Windows 8 OEM packaged revealed
NewEgg has today put their OEM (full versions meant for system builders) versions of Windows 8 up for preorder, complete with pricing for all of the various options of the software. Windows 8 “Core” (what used to be called “Home” edition) is apparently set to cost $99.99 while the beefier Pro version that we suspect many users will chose to go for will be priced at $139.99. Users must chose which version of the software, 32-bit or 64-bit, they want at checkout as these sets don’t come with one or the other – though if this is anything like the way Windows Vista and Windows 7 worked, serial keys for one will work fine with media of the other.
Microsoft also confirmed that users can purchase $69.99 physical copies of Windows 8 Pro if they so chose, but continues to point out that they’ll be offering a digital download version of the same thing for only $39.99.
