Raspberry Pi upgraded to 512MB of RAM

Good news to everybody who’s thus far held out on buying the insanely cheap $35 Raspberry Pi Linux PC – the Raspberry Pi Foundation has just announced that all new Raspberry Pi models are coming shipped with an upgraded 512MB of RAM, up from the puny 256MB in previous shipments.

The change comes with no increase in price, so the Raspberry Pi is still $35 at most online retailers. Of course, RAM on the Raspberry Pi is fixed, so owners of previous units (like me!) won’t be able to upgrade their RAM, but for $35 a unit that’s hardly a big deal.
