Encouraging the author (and lumberjack) in all of us

National Novel Writing Month (and No Shave November) starts today

As a couple of friends and I remembered late last night (or perhaps it was early this morning, time is such a hassle to remember) – today begins National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo)! The goal of the month is simple – go from nothing to an entire novel in the span of just thirty days.

Through the official National Novel Writing Month, anybody can sign up as a participant and allow others to track the progress of their fateful journey. It’s a mystery exactly how many novels are actually completed by the time we’re all done eating our leftover turkey, but hey, it’s fun to try, right?

Besides, this sort of communal activity is the sort of thing that the internet is perfect for. It truly is the best place in the entire world to create and share with like minded individuals, to encourage others to be the best they can be.

Or, in the case of No Shave November (which also starts today), encourage others to be as hairy as they can be. Either one.
