Introducing the Haverzine Breast Cancer Awareness Fund
October is an important month for a lot of reasons, but none so much as how we as a people come together to help raise awareness of one of the world’s most deadly words – cancer. Every October, people around the world dress in pink and proudly wear pink ribbons, and as has become somewhat of a tradition at Haverzine, we have proudly decided to join the cause once again this Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
If you hadn’t already noticed, to help raise awareness we’ve replaced our signature neon greens with pink, the color that symbolizes the fight against Breast Cancer. A truly frightening stat, it is estimated that, by the end of 2013, over 232,340 new cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed in this one year alone, affecting both men and women. Over 39,620 people may die from breast cancer.
It is for this reason that we have decided that, starting today and lasting until October 31st, we will be running the Haverzine Breast Cancer Awareness Fund through the amazing Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. The goal is simple – raise as much money as we can to help this amazing organization change the lives of men and women who have and will be affected by Breast Cancer.
If you’re interested in donating to the Haverzine Breast Cancer Awareness Fund, you can do so online by visiting this link. All money is processed by and goes to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation – we don’t see or touch a cent of it.
I sincerely thank everybody for taking the time to read this and for supporting this tremendous cause, and for letting Haverzine be part of your day. We’ll continue to run our regularly scheduled tech, so be sure to check back soon and get the word out!
