New Apple TV to include content direct from Time Warner Cable

apple-appletv12-channels-lgThe rumor mill is all fired up, and with every passing day it seems more and more likely that Apple is preparing to launch a completely overhauled Apple TV platform. After finding references to a major new hardware upgrade to Apple TV in iOS 7 earlier this week, rumors have come to say that Apple’s new system could include a third party application ecosystem, gaming support, and beefed up hardware specifications – likely including an A7 SoC most recently found in Apple’s iPhone 5s and the current iPad lineup.

Today’s rumor suggests that one of the big new features Apple will be touting this go around is live programming support supplied from Time Warner Cable. That’s the word from Bloomberg, who also claims that Apple has been in talks with numerous content providers in order to allow the Apple TV to view and record live television content.

Apple is said to be preparing the Apple TV alongside the launch of iOS 7.1 in time for a March press event, so we’re staying on top of all the latest Apple TV news as we get it – stay tuned.
