HP starts new “Mobility” division, to return to the tablet market

HP may have had a monumental sales failure on its’ hands with the HP TouchPad (despite it receiving good to great reviews, and some even claiming it to be a better tablet offering than the iPad at the time), but that doesn’t mean that they’re shying away from tablets all together. No, far from it – word is on the streets that HP has created a new “Mobility” dvision set with the task of developing new tablet offerings.

Word is that former MeeGo (a competitor mobile operating system to Android) leader Alberto Torres will be leading the new division, and that they’re already working on pushing out a new, Windows 8 based slate device “soon”.
