
Here it is, the moment you’ve all been waiting for – Microsoft’s big announcement today is…. the microsoft Surface, a widescreen 16:9 form factor slate device running none other than some variation of Windows 8. (Whether it’s the x86/64 version or the ARM Windows RT version has yet to be seen)
The Microsoft Surface comes with a full sized USB2 port, is only 9.3mm thick, is made of a “liquid metal” case (of the same sort that the much speculated upon next generation iPhone is rumored to have) and is designed to be used with a multitouch keyboard cover that will be presumably sold separately.
