Microsoft releases Windows Server 2012 Essentials beta




As Microsoft heads towards completion of the development of both Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 this August, Microsoft has just passed another development milestone and has announced a beta version of Windows Server 2012 Essentials, a barebones edition of Windows Server 2012, described as “a flexible, affordable, and easy-to-use server solution designed and priced for small businesses with up to 25 uses and 50 devices that helps them reduce costs and be more productive.”

Windows Server 2012 Essentials is now available as a 4.0GB 64-bit installation ISO from the Microsoft Download Center. It carries a core Windows build number of 8400, and a Small Business Server build number of 9552.
