Nintendo to announce Wii U pricing and availability tomorrow
If you’re at all like me, you’re really, really over the current crop of consoles. Gone apparently are the days of quick product cycles – the XBox 360 has been on the market since 2005, the Wii and PS3 since 2006. Six and seven years are essentially over an eternity in the tech industry. Finally, though, Nintendo will be further tickling my desire for something new tomorrow, when they announce the pricing and availability for their next-generation console, the Wii U.
Nintendo has just tweeted the following, as translated by gaming site Polygon:
“Good evening, this is Iwata of Nintendo. Tomorrow, Wednesday September 13th, we will broadcast an online presentation about the Wii U’s launch from 4pm onwards. We will announce details such as the console’s price and release date.”
That stream will come via Nintendo Direct on the official Nintendo website at 3am EST tomorrow – so all you eager beavers better get your fill of pure caffeine, because it’s going to be a long night if you want to be one of the first to know!
Nintendo of America will also reportedly be holding a press conference tomorrow at 10am EST to announce American pricing and availability.
