Samsung Galaxy S III Mini leaks, to be a low-end smartphone

Those looking for Samsung to announce a full blown Galaxy S III smartphone with a more sane 4″ screen tomorrow will likely be walking away disappointed, as tech site Mobile Geeks has gotten what they claim to be a legit stock photo and specs of the new Galaxy S III Mini due to be announced at Samsung’s special event tomorrow. Rather than Samsung taking the Galaxy S III specs and just plopping everything into a smaller case, the company has, unfortunately, opted to make this a decidedly low end smartphone instead.

The Galaxy S III Mini will feature a ST-Ericsson U8420 dual-core 1 GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. It’ll also come with a wimpy 5 MP camera, a front facing camera, and a built in MicroSD card slot. The screen is said to be a 4.0″ “Super AMOLED” display, of the same PenTile (ugh) sort as phones as the Nokia Lumia 800.

Pricing and availability has yet to be leaked, but we should find out more tomorrow… hopefully.
