This is Google’s next Nexus phone

The other day I was discussing mobile phones with one of my friends, and I mentioned offhand that the Galaxy Nexus seemed to be getting a little long in the tooth. Low and behold, it looks like I was channeling my inner psychic, because we’ve just got the first pieces of solid, concrete evidence that the next generation of Google’s flagship Nexus line is right around the corner – and it’s by LG.

The new “Nexus LG”, as I’ll call it for now, appears to very much be a remodeled version of the company’s Optimus G. It reportedly comes with a quad-core Snapdragon processor, 2GB of RAM, and a 4.7″ (!!) display running at 1280 x 768.

The leaked photos show that the phone is running Google’s Android 4.1.2 operating system, perhaps to the dismay of those hoping that Android 4.2 was just around the corner. The “Nexus LG” is rumored to be formally announced on October 29th.

what is up with these massive displays?
personally, the most important thing in a phone is durability. if i put an otterbox on a screen with a 4.7 inch display ill have a phone thats the size of a cinder block

You’re telling me. I’m not sure if I even like how big the new iPhone is anymore. :

The phone itself looks great…but I agree. Whats with these displays? For me 4-inch is 100% perfect and I could handle a 4.2 inch, but 4.7-inch! Thats insane.
