Windows 8 to be released October 26th
Mark your calendars, because Microsoft has just announced on their official Windows blog that the next version of Windows, Windows 8, will be released for consumers October 26th of this year.
Windows 8 will come as a $39 digital upgrade for current users of both the 32-bit version and the 64-bit version of Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7.
Windows 8 offers several new features including a brand new, touch oriented Metro user interface, which replaces Explorer as the default user interface for Windows, better Windows Live integration, ARM support through Windows RT, a lighter footprint, and more.
