WSJ confirms a “mini iPad” is coming
Serving as confirmation of yesterday’s featured story regarding the long rumored 7″ iPad (which we’ve taken to calling the iPad mini), today the Wall Street Journal has confirmed that Apple is indeed working on production of a “mini iPad”, citing sources in the supply chain as confirmation.
The WSJ reports that the iPad mini will indeed have a 7.85″ screen, and claims it’ll have a “lower resolution” than current generation iPad, meaning it’s likely to have a decidedly non-Retina resolution of 1024 x 768. (The current iPad has a resolution of double that at 2048 x 1536).
The iPad mini is rumored to be making its debut at a special event later this month, and will presumably go on sale shortly after.
